Sample three different disciplines – Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture. Kids learn 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional concepts while practicing design elements such as line, shape, composition and color.
Color Pencil Your Favorite Pet or Animal
Students will learn basic drawing skills, as well as how to create 3-dimensional effects while creating amazing vibrant, colorful pets that kids love. Whether it be a pet they own now, one of the past or one they wish to have in the future, students will take home beautiful works of art in color pencil that they will be proud to share with family and friends.
Draw and Paint Animals
Students will learn the basic fundamentals of drawing in graphite pencil, charcoal and pastels. Students will be able to break down animals into simple shapes and learn the basic skills to draw. Techniques in shading and drawing to make an object on a 2-dimensional surface appear 3-dimensional will be taught.
Drawing – Color Pencil, Pen and Ink
Learn the the skill of drawing with guided technique that is customized to every age and ability. Students will explore the mediums of graphite, color pencil, pastels, and pen and ink.
Master Artist Author/Illustrator
Painting like the Masters is a four-part series that introduces students to the marvelous world of illustrators like The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein, Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak, and If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Felicia Bond. Students will explore famous paintings to understand the master artists’ style as they produce their own paintings and add story lines.
Mini Masters Painting
Painting like the Masters is a four-part series that introduces young students to the marvelous world of such master artists as Monet, Matisse, Picasso, O’Keeffe, Van Gogh, Cézanne, Chagall, and more. Students will explore famous paintings to understand the master artists’ style as they create their own paintings. Kids will create with pastels, collage,paint, and mixed media.
Mixed Media Animal Painting
This class will be a wonderful way to get your creative mind flowing! Working with color, texture, surface design, and composition. We will learn how to combine more than one media and understand how different materials work alone and together. Students create mixed media artworks by using methods of drawing, painting, and collage. Kids will have fun combining various media such as pastels, watercolor, tempera, pastes and glues as they mix in tearing, cutting, folding, crimping, and other layering techniques.
Paint Like Master Painter Georgia O’Keeffe: Flowers, Bugs, and Natural Objects
Explore nature photography and technique then transform it in to a beautiful Georgia O’Keeffe inspired painting. Students learn to paint with an emphasis on the visual effects of light and color while creating paintings of enlarged florals, butterflies, or bugs; presenting them close up as if seen through a magnifying lens. Students will achieve professional looking results and take home a completed masterpiece in the style of Georgia O’Keeffe.
Painted Wood Sculpture
Budding sculptors will have fun learning basic construction skills. Form, shape, color and texture will be explored in clay, wood, and paper pulp.
Under the Sea
Kids get creative as they explore themes related to mer-people and marine mammals while they discover various art techniques and mediums. Children will draw, paint, construct, and create collage works of art.
